On this day the Lord has made . . .

As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.

So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

Monday

A typical Monday.

Awaken by Scout chewing on her toenails at 5:30 AM. I get up. Luckily I am usually a morning person so this doesn't bother me too much. Plus she is so cute it is hard to get mad at her.

If Scout doesn't wake me first, then I wake up at 6 AM to the radio tuned to Bott Radio station, with a guy from Texas who is reading through the Bible one chapter at a time. Right now he is on Matthew 11. He explains it so plainly. I love starting my morning this way.

I hobble over to the bathtub and get into the warm water. It's the only way I can get the muscles to function and the bones to quit hurting. I have to tell you that I'm not so sure the shots are working. My knees wake me up in the night screaming in pain. Luckily the pain goes away once I move them a bit. I must sleep with them in a funky position. That's the only explanation I can come up with.

Usually at work by 7 AM. I start a pot of coffee for me and Steve Probasco. He usually buys the good coffee. He has a fondness for Arabica beans. His wife told him that was the best coffee. Then I start my wonderful new computer up and check out my email.

We use Outlook for the company email. I use google for my personal email. I'm telling you these details because I know they change as they months or years go by. Back in the day people used Lotus for email (the company I do most of my work for still uses Lotus Notes for their email system - AEP) but now most people utilize Outlook. I used to use yahoo or aol for my email but now I basically use google or gmail. My email address is keljolie@gmail.com.

I can't remember if I wrote about the excellent computer that the company purchased for me. They are wanting me to do all the work in 3D - CADD in 3D. I'm supposed to be working in Bentley's Substation but we are waiting for them to release their latest version of Substation. I wasn't too impressed with the last release. Otherwise I work mostly in Bentley MicrosStation v8i. I can use AutoCAD. Since I learned in MicroStation and taught MicroStation and provided technical support for MicroStation I feel a little more comfortable using it to create drawings. But I can do the same in AutoCAD.

Today I worked on the Rutland Station for AEP. Mostly wiring drawings. Once I get up and running I'll probably be focusing more on the physical side of substations but right now I do it all.

Charlotte and I went to lunch today at Chili's. They had sent out a free dessert coupon so we headed over their and had some lunch. I had the endless salad, soup and chips and salsa for lunch. She had the Triple Platter with southwest eggrolls, buffalo chicken pieces and potato something or other. Mine was around $7 and hers was a little over $10. I give these details so you can compare prices to when you are reading this.

I left work at 5 and headed home. I was intending to go to the new Trader Joe's store at the Ward Parkway mall but my knees were aching so badly I just ended up resting at home a bit. I did finally get up and around about 6:45 and I headed to Target and I bought a few things like Cranberry juice and dark chocolate covered expresso beans. lol

I'm not listening to anything or watching tv - although I did intend to listen to the radio. I was listening to an interesting man speak.

Now I need to get off this computer and go stretch my knees. I applied Pain-A-Trate to my knees and took a naproxin. I had taken 2 Tylenol arthritis around 4pm. I imagine all the sitting I do isn't helping me at all.

I had wanted to stop by and see Lindsay and Kyler on my way to Target but the thought of getting out of the truck and up the three stairs into their house deterred me. I tried to call but no one answered. I'll try calling again. I will also call over to Michael's. For some reason 99% of the time he doesn't want to talk to me. He always acts like I am bothering him so I try to limit my calls when he is there. Mary is more gracious and she seems to not mind me calling. I love hearing the boys in the background. I miss them. I wish we could all live in a great big house. (With our own private rooms of course.) lol

Prayer List

  • Thank you Father thank you.
  • Lord, extend the kingdom of your Son.
  • O Merciful God, who hast made all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, nor desirest the death of a sinner, but rather that he should be converted and live; Have mercy upon all who know thee not as thou are revealed in the Gospel of thy Son. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of thy Word; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord to thy fold, that they may be one flock under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
  • God please take the blinders from my children's heart and eyes. Please give them the gift of faith. Lord God, faith in you is so comforting and brings so much joy. Thank you!
  • God please bless Michael, Lindsay, and their families with faith, wisdom, and compassion. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • God thank you for the gift of my co-workers who have shown me that it is good to show that I am a Christian. It is more than okay, it is imperative that my faith shows, so that others can come to know you. Please make me into a shining light for you. Give me the words, and your wisdom, and please don't let me cause anyone to stumble.
  • God please be with my family/friends as they go through this time in their lives. Please give them strength and courage and wisdom and faith Lord.
  • God please guide the leaders of the world.
  • God please heal my children.
  • Please heal those that have asked for prayer.
