Wyatt and I got up and headed out to early church. As we were walking into the little chapel Wyatt asked why we go to church. I said to learn about God and to worship Him. He said "but Grandma I don't know how". I said “just watch.”
He did! (It helps that Dr. Hill can tell a good story.) Today Dr. Hill spoke of Jacob and Esau from Genesis and the way Dr Hill recounted the story held the attention of a 5 year old boy who tends to be a little on the energetic side.
Then it just got better as Coincidence Maybe was playing for our special music of the service. One man sang and played guitar while the other man played a beautiful set of bongo’s and he had something that sounded like tambourines strapped to his knee. (I hadn’t noticed them being strapped to his knee but I heard about that detail as Wyatt was telling his mother.)
Seriously, this little boy sat and sang and prayed . . . this morning was amazing and such a blessing for me in that I shared this morning with Wyatt and the church and God.
You know how a person can be so moved by a sun-rise that they thank God . . . today was exactly that kind of feeling.
