On this day the Lord has made . . .

As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.

So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

good news

Notes taken while listening to a broadcast by Chip Ingram October 12, 2011

The moment you are saved – you are sealed.
  • ·         The spirit of God comes into your life.
  • ·         Your sins are taken away forever.
  • ·         You are sealed by the spirit and given your spiritual gifts.
  • ·         He begins the process of making your more like His Son.

Eternal retribution (You get something for what you do.)
  • There is retribution for believers and another for unbelievers.
  • For believers - how you lived your life after you were saved.
  • You will not be judged for your sins. That was taken care of by Jesus.
  • You will be judged for how you used your gifts, your money, your energy and your time.  Evaluated clearly and completely by the one who knows the secrets of our hearts.  1 Corinthians 3 Paul says by the grace of God . . . let each one be careful about . . . the fire will test the quality . . .
  • The quality of your heavenly experience is directly proportional to your stewardship.
  • God is fair. You will get exactly what you deserve.
Hebrews 9:27 is for unbelievers.  Hell is for those who do not want God.  Hell is a place for people who do not want to be around God. It is as real as heaven.

Some people say that a good God does not send anyone to hell. We should remind them that a good God sent His Son so that no one would have to go to hell.

A Christian says, 'God’s will be done'. A non-believer says, 'my will be done'.

Call upon the Lord while He is near.   The choice is yours.

God grant me the power to walk with you all the days of my life.

Toward the end of this broadcast Chip talks about what, when we are standing before God, because we know what He has done for us,what will God say about our life? When you think about how you used your time here, used your money, your gifts, your energy, will He say, "Well done good and faithful servant?"

Or will I hear, "What in the world did you do with what I gave you? How in light of all eternity, and what I did on the cross, could you live such a self centered, self serving, pleasure seeking life and be one of my children?

You are saved, you are forgiven, and you are here, but you are an embarrassment to the kingdom of God.

You are mislead if you aren't living as you should be. If you are not focused on the kingdom of God bursting with gratitude.

As many as receive him to them he gives the right to become the children of God.

Dear Jesus - please forgive me. I am sorry for what I've done. I believe that your death on the cross paid for my sin. I believe your resurrection proves that it is true. I ask you now come into my life. Lord, please grant me the power to walk with you all the days of my life.

****************************************************************************

Receive the gift of Jesus.

It is wondrous. Once you are saved you do change. God changes you. The Holy Spirit dwells within you and you change. I've really noticed it these last few years. I've changed. I can feel God working within me and it is a wondrous feeling. Knowing that God is and that He loves us.

The good news is - Jesus!

Prayer List

  • Thank you Father thank you.
  • Lord, extend the kingdom of your Son.
  • O Merciful God, who hast made all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, nor desirest the death of a sinner, but rather that he should be converted and live; Have mercy upon all who know thee not as thou are revealed in the Gospel of thy Son. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of thy Word; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord to thy fold, that they may be one flock under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
  • God please take the blinders from my children's heart and eyes. Please give them the gift of faith. Lord God, faith in you is so comforting and brings so much joy. Thank you!
  • God please bless Michael, Lindsay, and their families with faith, wisdom, and compassion. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • God thank you for the gift of my co-workers who have shown me that it is good to show that I am a Christian. It is more than okay, it is imperative that my faith shows, so that others can come to know you. Please make me into a shining light for you. Give me the words, and your wisdom, and please don't let me cause anyone to stumble.
  • God please be with my family/friends as they go through this time in their lives. Please give them strength and courage and wisdom and faith Lord.
  • God please guide the leaders of the world.
  • God please heal my children.
  • Please heal those that have asked for prayer.
