Colossians 4:6 KJVLet your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Dr. J Vernon McGee just said something that made me smile. He was talking about Leviticus and how this book is full of the Loveliness of Jesus. I don't know about you but if you've ever read this book you'll notice that it doesn't appear to say anything about Jesus. It is full of details about how the people and priests performed sacrifices and when I speak of details I'm talking down to the underwear that the priests wore. I don't see Jesus there. At least, I didn't see Him until after listening this last few weeks to Dr. McGee and his talks on Leviticus.
Colossians 4:6 KJVLet your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
John 7:37 KJVIn the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
I had a vague feeling that salt in the Bible refers to God but I just couldn't put it into words.
Our words, our conversations should be sprinkled with salt so as to make others thirsty for the Word. Our conversations should be full of grace and seasoned with salt.
Dr. McGee gave an example of the lady who was in charge of the Mothers group there at his church. He said that people constantly said that after speaking with this woman they always wanted to go to God and learn more.
Our conversations should be sprinkled with the love of God so that a thirst is created in the other person for God.
