I am so tired of hearing about homosexuality. Seriously. I am even more tired of listening to how we have to accept and worship homosexual people because they are homosexuals. Excuse me, but I don't want to worship the fact that you like to have sex with someone from your own gender. I mean, we pretty much all like having sex once we hit puberty. The urge to have sex is a base desire that 99% (that was just a guess) of the people who have reached puberty in this world have or had. I mean, do you really want to hear about my sex life? I didn't think so.
Now it seems to me that people get their panties in a wad because Christians aren't gung ho over their choice of partners. We have this book called the Bible that tells us that this choice isn't one that God wants us to pursue. Why does this bother you so much? That is a question I've always wanted to ask. If you don't believe in the Bible, and you don't believe in God, and you don't believe that Christ gave His life for our sins, then why do you care what a book called the Bible says, or that some of us believe?
Is it because you think we don't like homomosexuals in the church? You'd be wrong. Heck yes they are welcome in the church. So is someone like me who has a wicked gambling problem and has a problem with not watching their weight. Those are two sins that are mentioned in the bible as well. Do I think that a homosexual should lead in a church? No. I also don't think that someone like me should lead in a church. The bible outlines who should lead in a church in a very clear manner. That wouldn't be me and that wouldn't be anyone else who gets caught up in their sins.
Now, if a person is not a follower of Christ, then they can be held to a different standard. The world celebrates sin. Sin is a good thing says the world. 'Define yourself and enjoy' says the world. So enjoy your world! How easy is that? While you are alive and living in these United States you can go have sex with any adult you want and in any way you want. Woo Hoo! You have that choice and no one is taking it from you (in the United States that is. I understand some other countries frown on it - but you aren't there. So enjoy!)
As for me . . . Christ has offered grace and everlasting life. He has offered to have His Holy Spirit reside in us as individuals and guide us through whatever character flaws that we are haunted by. Jesus has given me grace and joy and a sense of belonging and He's given me hope and so much more. All I did was ask. But I understand not everyone agrees with my choice. So . . .
You go on and enjoy this world however you want to. You already have that right.
There is no need to be hateful just because some people don't agree with your choices. (Try being a little more accepting of other peoples choices. It can be quite freeing. Give it a try.)
If you ever get to the point that you want to talk about Jesus, or read the Bible, please do pick a Bible up, or go talk with a Christian that you actually like. Don't go to a grouchy Christian that gives Christianhood a bad name. We do have grouchy Christians. That's the thing about being a Christian. Jesus said He accepts us all. He takes grouchy, hypocritical, sexual beings, lying, drunkards and gossipers . . . I could keep naming different things humans may do, but the point I was trying to make is, all a Christian is, is, someone who has accepted the gift that Jesus Christ has offered. Past that, while they are here on this earth, they are human just like you and me. A Christian make mistakes, gets caught up in their base desires, and they have their own thorns to put up with and they are all at different points in their spiritual path.
So, how about a litle kindness? We are all traveling through this world experiencing the same dirt and the same air . . . kindness. Is that too much to ask?
