I woke up this morning talking to my children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers (and they were listening to me while I spoke) and of course, this means that I was dreaming. Because I was talking with them about the Bible and about God's word.
I was talking about how everything in this Bible points to Jesus and that Jesus was real. It is documented not just in this book but in a myriad of books and documents. Jesus walked this earth.
The book of Leviticus - BORING with all its talk about regulation and rules for priests. Boring until I heard Dr. McGee talk about this book. Did you know every button on the priest vestments points to Christ? (ttb.org and you can listen to an mp3 of Dr McGee speaking about every book of the Bible and hear it yourself.)
I used to be jealous of the Jewish people because they were God's chosen people. The Jews were His chosen people because it is through them that Christ would come. The Old Testament points in a gazillion ways at how and why. The Jews had to become a separate people. This is why they had to follow a bunch of what we now call 'silly' rules. Every single 'silly' thing was setting them apart, setting the stage to Christ's coming. Every single thing was pointing to our Savior. Making all those silly ways so that it would be clear to generations and generations of people. (Not so silly once you realize that. But don't you get mad when you see how you were mislead by people saying the Bible isn't relevant? Or mislead by allowing yourself to have such shallow understanding?)
Jesus walked this earth. He was real. He IS real. I can still see that painting where He is standing at the door of a house. He is waiting for you to ask Him into your heart.
Once you have recognized that Jesus is real and you ask Him to become the Lord of your life, you will find yourself becoming thankful for all He has done and will continue to do. Then you need to keep feeding yourself His word. You need to find a group of people where you can talk about Him and learn about Him. You'll see how you will change - and it is glorious because you will know that He is real because you will see everything working together.
When this happens please do not quit submersing yourself in His Word and in the worship of Him because this is how you will keep seeing the fruit of your belief. This is how you keep doubts out of your heart and head because you will actually see all the ways He works. AND, please realize that this is a journey.
As an example: When Anne told me that the Bible was stupid because it had 'don't eat shellfish' and other things. She was being shortsighted and it isn't her fault. She is just beginning her journey. She is seeing with only her teenagers eyes. This would apply to us all no matter what our age. We are seeing with the worlds eyes (what we've heard all of our life) and with our baby eyes (after all you are new to the faith. You are new to His words). You have to grow up in your faith. As you grow in faith and wisdom (which God promises to give you if you ask. Ask for discernment and wisdom so that you can discern between false teaching and real. God is faithful. He will deliver this to you and it is amazing!)
I told you the story about the journey and baby eyes so that you could begin to see the whole story - give yourself a little time. No one understands everything because we are not God. But this journey is amazing. Because once you quit listening to everyone else and start paying attention to what God says - the world opens up in a whole new way.
Listen to preachers, listen to other Christians but guard your heart and your mind. Keep quiet time with God and listen to the Holy Spirits instruction.
The devotional that caught my heart this morning is from Alistair Begg, 'Anticipate the End'. It just fits in with the dream. If anyone actually does listen to me, and they hear that Jesus is real, and this does peak their interest, and they do start looking into all of this - I don't want them to fall away like most people do. Stay immersed, don't fall for false preaching, search out the truth, stay on the path, fall in love with God. Fall in love with God! I want to look over and see you bathed in His Glorious Light. Can you imagine us all standing there together?

I have also copied his article here since it is so short (and powerful);
Reader, if you are merely a professor and not a possessor of the faith that is in Christ Jesus, the following lines are a true sketch of your end.
You are a respectable attender at a place of worship; you go because others go, not because your heart is right with God. This is your beginning. I will suppose that for the next twenty or thirty years you will be spared to continue in this way, professing religion by an outward attendance upon the means of grace, but having no heart in the matter. Tread softly, for I must show you the deathbed of someone just like you. Let us gaze upon him gently. A clammy sweat is on his brow, and he wakes up crying, "O God, it is hard to die. Did you send for my pastor?" "Yes, he is coming." The pastor comes. "Sir, I fear that I am dying!" "Have you any hope?" "I cannot say that I have. I fear to stand before my God. Oh, pray for me." The prayer is offered for him with sincere earnestness, and the way of salvation is for the ten-thousandth time put before him, but before he has grasped the rope, I see him sink.
I may put my finger upon those cold eyelids, for they will never see anything here again. But where is the man, and where are the man's true eyes? It is written, "In Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes."1 Why did he not lift up his eyes before? Because he was so accustomed to hearing the Gospel that his soul slept under it. If you should lift up your eyes in hell, how bitter will be your wailings. Let the Savior's own words reveal the woe: "Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame."2
There is a frightful meaning in those words. May you never have to spell it out by the red light of God's wrath!
1Luke 16:23 2Luke 16:24
The point I want to make is that Jesus is real. He did come to this earth to pay the price for our sins so that we could have eternal life.
Now, isn't that worth taking some time to stop and pay attention to? If the whole idea of creation isn't enough to get your attention - isn't the fact that Jesus walked this earth enough to garner some time for research from you?
If not that then, seeing your Mother again after she has passed? Or being with your children after you pass? Don't you want to raise your children with hope and with love and with respect of something other than a video game?
On this day the Lord has made . . .
As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.
So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

Prayer List
- Thank you Father thank you.
- Lord, extend the kingdom of your Son.
- O Merciful God, who hast made all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, nor desirest the death of a sinner, but rather that he should be converted and live; Have mercy upon all who know thee not as thou are revealed in the Gospel of thy Son. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of thy Word; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord to thy fold, that they may be one flock under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
- God please take the blinders from my children's heart and eyes. Please give them the gift of faith. Lord God, faith in you is so comforting and brings so much joy. Thank you!
- God please bless Michael, Lindsay, and their families with faith, wisdom, and compassion. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- God thank you for the gift of my co-workers who have shown me that it is good to show that I am a Christian. It is more than okay, it is imperative that my faith shows, so that others can come to know you. Please make me into a shining light for you. Give me the words, and your wisdom, and please don't let me cause anyone to stumble.
- God please be with my family/friends as they go through this time in their lives. Please give them strength and courage and wisdom and faith Lord.
- God please guide the leaders of the world.
- God please heal my children.
- Please heal those that have asked for prayer.
