On this day the Lord has made . . .

As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.

So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

do you see joy?

You know how people have different dispositions? Some people see joy everywhere while another person sees hate? Well, I have a family member by marriage like this. Not only do they see yuck everywhere but they like to stir up unrest. Misery enjoys company holds very true with this person.

Today I wrote something to them and I am going to share it here. This was completely off the cuff, like most everything I write.

I would prefer to get along.

I do not like to fight.

I do not like drama.

I don't want to make your decisions.

I just want to enjoy my family whenever they are around.

I understand how hard it is to be a wife and a mother. I've been both.

Now I'm a grandmother and I plan on enjoying this time of my life whenever the kids are around.

Otherwise, I keep quite busy with my job, my friends, and my first love which is Christ.

Please keep your drama over on your side. Share it with your family if you must.
However, this side of the family prefers peace, prefers love and prefers laughter.

Maybe someday you'll be able to be quiet and just observe how we treat each other.
You can see for yourself.

Life can be quite nice and even joyous.

Sincerely

Me

  • Lord, extend the kingdom of your Son.
  • O Merciful God, who hast made all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, nor desirest the death of a sinner, but rather that he should be converted and live; Have mercy upon all who know thee not as thou are revealed in the Gospel of thy Son. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of thy Word; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord to thy fold, that they may be one flock under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
