1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said
My mind went to Uncle David who stayed true to his love for Christ his entire life. David held onto the promises of God. David believed but my children don't believe. They have heard the gospel but it doesn't profit them. They lack faith. So I pray for them to receive faith so that they can then begin to see the joy and the love and the forgiveness we have in Christ and the promises in the Bible.
Hebrews 4 just keeps popping up and up and up this weekend. I'm seeing it everywhere. Along with something new I discovered - journaling in our Bibles.
This is just one example. I borrowed this example of journaling from a Facebook group called Journaling Bible Community.
I asked Michael and Lindsay if they would sketch something in my Bible. Then I got to thinking that I should actually do four Bibles - one for each of the grandchildren. How nice would that be for them to each have a bible with art from their parents and grandmother?
