Joyful Noise movie
This was an okay movie. I am disappointed because thought it was a Christian movie and I was excited thinking that Hollywood realized there is this huge market that they have left untapped but I was wrong.
It's a movie that pretends to be Christian and that is scary. It is a movie that is like most Christians. (I feel bad writing that as I write it.) It's a movie that say's I am a "Christian" while being very much like the world. (Having the 'world view'. I can't even say that. I can say that this movie thinks like most Americans. I know not everyone in the world thinks like we do.)
If you are full of the Holy Spirit, and if you know scriptures, and if you have changed, you aren't going to sleep with another person because that is one of those basic 10 commandments we were given. It isn't even a sin that we can argue within ourselves that it is okay - because the ten commandments make it so clear.
Cussing, sure, we all do it every now and again - but we aren't cavalier about it and it almost seems as if it is used in the movie to make the Christians more palatable.
Christians aren't supposed to be palatable; however, we are human. We do make a lot of mistakes and we may even slip up and sleep with another person but we don't do it easily. That's the point I was trying to make.
These are just of the two glaring problems, there were more. I think they tried to cram too much into what should have been a different movie. It seems like a made for TV movie. One that shouldn't make it into a christian station.
Although I LOVED how the music caught me. I may get the soundtrack because they took modern music that we all know and sang it as if they were singing to God. That was marvelous. I could get lost in that music.
I wish the movie makers would have gotten lost in their love for Christ because then this movie could have been great. This movie was a lot like I used to be. I knew what I needed to be, but I didn't want to give up my standing in the world, and you just can't straddle the fence.
