On this day the Lord has made . . .

As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.

So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

monday monday

Beautiful day.

It seems like I've been away from work for years. But it has only been four days. I missed Charlotte and Anthony and Saul and Courtney . . . and my desk! lol

Had a stress test for my heart today. My heart came through with flying colors - the rest of me not so much.

I'm trying to bake cupcakes for Anthony's shower tomorrow but I have to keep sitting down and I'm soaking wet. If it isn't my heart then what is causing this?!!!! I mean, I know my knees are screaming, and my hips are screaming, and my lower spine is screaming, but they are all down to a low roar with the tylenol. So why the sweat and the weakness?

Stopped by for some food tonight and the waitress sat down with me as I was finishing my meal. Which is funny considering that I am NOT a social person. For some reason people think I am but I was quite happy sitting by myself. This encounter turned out to be interesting. She mentioned bible study!!! I can't remember how she brought it up but once she did that my whole attitude changed. Ended up she gave me her email address and I plan on writing her. The bible study group she attends is doing this neat thing for the homeless. They are crocheting mats for them from plastic bags. She showed me one. They are soft. She spoke of how she was talking with God about how dissatisfied she was with her life and she had no reason to be. Then today she realized that between her bible study and this work she is doing and a few other things that her life is good and satisfying. She thanked God. I loved her smile. I knew what she meant.

Then, the thing that Charlotte will like, the waitress mentioned how she liked bible study except when they were talking about Leviticus. I perked up and told her that I understood what she meant and I felt the same way until I heard Dr. McGee talk about Leviticus. Dr. McGee explained how just about all those details point to Christ. She frowned and said she just couldn't stand listening to him. lol. His Texas drawl just drives her batty. I told her that Charlotte said the same exact thing! I just love how big God's church is. :) You never know if the person you are standing next to might just be a sister of yours or a brother. :)

Prayer List

  • Thank you Father thank you.
  • Lord, extend the kingdom of your Son.
  • O Merciful God, who hast made all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, nor desirest the death of a sinner, but rather that he should be converted and live; Have mercy upon all who know thee not as thou are revealed in the Gospel of thy Son. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of thy Word; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord to thy fold, that they may be one flock under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
