On this day the Lord has made . . .

As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.

So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

lemmings

Just read this, 'Mom, Dad Please don't be pissed off because your kid wants to be Muslim' and at first I just shook my head and shut the page to the article and then I realized, wait, they are using the same arguments as people use about everything.

After all, why be pissed off about anything your child wants to do? This is what the world is saying. When I heard my own daughter say that it's okay if her son wants to be gay I looked at her like she was crazy. Really? It's okay if he likes to . . . I have to stop writing now, but seriously?!? That really came out of your mouth?

This is craziness. Also, did you notice how belittling the person was in the article? Using terms like Moozlims and Ay-Rabs when talking like their parents. (While talking about how they must respect their parents.)

People need to start standing up for their beliefs. Wait, it sounds like this person's parents/family is standing up for their beliefs. They haven't bought into what this writer has fallen for and it is upsetting to the person writing the article. I bet the parents expressed their disproval and the writer ceased talking with her family. I bet it is the writer who distanced themselves. I bet the parents would love to still be around their child. After all, that's what we parents are all about - loving our children even when they make stupid choices.

I believe it was a country song where the singer says, You have to stand for something or you'll fall for anything. It feels like most people in this world will fall for anything. It feels as if there is no wrong anywhere - except, to stand up for your belief in the Bible. Then there are all kinds of names and all kinds of belittling. Seems the freedom and the respect to follow your heart, your faith and your love ceases then.

Actually, the Bible does tell us to take heart. As people hated Him that they will hate us. We are to expect this type of treatment. I think what is so discouraging to me is how blind most people are. They just follow what everyone else is saying. Of course, I did this for most of my 50 years of life. Lindsay reminded me just the other day how she doesn't remember me ever reading a bible. She said I didn't even go to church with her when she was attending the Baptist church. I bought into the whole 'you don't have to go to church to worship God'. So I slacked off the whole time I was raising my own children. Oh, they went to vacation bible school and to sunday school sometimes. But I just don't like walking into a place where there are a bunch of people - it just wears me out. So I understand walking in blindness and just following what the world says like a lemming.

Still, it is disheartening when people won't come out of their blind following and actually take the time to think.
