Lesson 1
Veritology: What is truth?
Why did Jesus come into the world?
“For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” John 18:37
And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will. 2 Timothy 2:24-26
We treat others kindly in hopes that God will grant them the same knowledge as He gave us.
After all, we were like them at one time.

Lesson 2
Philosophy & Ethics

(I've set up my living room so that I can watch this series with my notebook close by for taking notes. Michael is home in Warsaw, and Richard, my room mate, worked all night so he is asleep in his bedroom. I can hear the cicadas, which I love listening to, and I have the windows open. Such a beautiful day. I spent the morning at work catching up on the 4 hours I had taken off earlier in the week. Such a restful yet productive Saturday.)
Something that is coming through so clearly in these lessons is how our understanding of words (the meanings of words) have changed.
Dr. Sproul said that the meaning of 'morality' and 'ethics' have changed, the terms have merged, but they used to be separate. Morality was the study of the morals of people. Ethics was the study of the transcendent or norm of human behavior. Ethics looks at the word 'ought' while morals looks at the word 'is'.
We are so focused on statics now. If 51% of the people cheat on their spouses then it is normal, and it is good. (Crazy) But this is how people base their judgments on what is good now. Instead of what God says.
Only 4% of Americans have a Christian worldview.
"We are probably living in the most anti-intellectual period of time." Dr. Sproul 'I don't want to learn, I don't want to study, I just want to feel.' (I would have to agree with this. I can't tell you how many people have told me just this very thing.)
Lesson 3: Who is man?
Too much in this to write really.
World tries to tell us that we are inherently good and we should follow our own desires. The Bible, God's word, says the exact opposite.
Another lie is that we are worthless. We are made in God's image - we are the opposite of worthless!
