On this day the Lord has made . . .

As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.

So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

Christmas season 2014

Christmas Eve day I spent at Lindsay’s house holding Callie and playing with Kyler. Ky and I got to make a cake. Lindsay and Craig got to have some time outside of the house. It was a win win for all of us.

Christmas was church at 10 and then I headed over to Sharon’s house with Richard. We met Mendy, Travis, Luke and Mia and Lindsay’s family was already there, Nancy and Walt showed up and we had a very nice meal. I love my family. Michael didn’t come because he was too depressed. He and I both cheered up later that day. Mary dropped the boys off at Terry’s. Terry and Kay were kind enough to call me so I was able to come over while they unwrapped their presents.

I had to work the day after Christmas, Friday, but I got a call a little after noon saying that Mendy saw Betsy. (Linda, Mary’s Mom, lost Betsy a few days earlier.) Mendy saw Betsy in Tony’s neighborhood. Come to find out Tony had tried catching her the night before. Betsy isn’t letting anyone catch her. I had Terry meet me with the boys and we tried calling her but she didn’t come out for us. So she is still loose somewhere in the cold. (I’m not saying all I want to say about Mary and her Mother.) Today was Wyatt’s birthday. Lindsay had us all over to her house. She had made a chocolate chip cake and they had two kinds of ice cream. Couple this with the pizza’s and we had a really good time.

Saturday I went to Birthright and I actually got to visit with a lady who wanted a test. She had a child already and was working full time and going to school full time . . . we women! So many irons in the fire all at once. I need to remember to pray for her. She is so brave and she will be fine – but like all mothers she needs prayers.

After Birthright I went home. Michael dropped the boys off a bit later and the boys just wanted to hang out at home. Sunday we stopped by and got Dunkin Donuts (Christians’ request) and then stopped by Target to pick up jackets (the boys only had short sleeve t-shirts) and then we headed to church. Christian has matured so much. He didn’t fight with Wyatt even though I know Wy was testing his nerves. Wy didn’t do a very good job of sitting up in church. He said he was too tired. I explained that the next time he’s at my house he’ll have to go to bed earlier so that he can have the energy to sit up for half an hour. But, really, they were great. I loved how Wy scooted out but then before we left he had to come back into church because he didn’t shake the priests hand. So, Wyatt was heading down the aisle to meet up with Father Burgett, right before he got to Father he sneezed into his hand but then he handed the same hand to Father Burgett who smiled happily as he shook Wyatt’s hand. Such a kind man and you can tell that he and his wife do love all of us. God has blessed us all with these two people.
