On this day the Lord has made . . .

As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.

So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

first weekend in October 2012

Can't remember all that I did last weekend but I do remember going to Wyatt's football game. It was an exciting game. The only score was a safety by the Silverbacks. So it was a tight game. Wyatt gets better each and every time he takes the field. I am so proud of him.

After the game he and I headed to Jose Peppers for supper. The waitress recognized us. The waitresses love Wyatt. He was flipping a penny and she asked him if he had ever flipped quarters. He didn't have one so she gave him one. lol

Then we headed home. He was tired so we pretty much just went to bed. I knew he was super tired when he didn't want to say the goodnight prayer. He ALWAYS has to say the prayer.

Sunday we headed off to church and then to a movie, Hotel Transylvania and then to his house. He was able to go to Sunday school. He wasn't as 'wound up' as he usually is so I think he was able to enjoy church and Sunday school more because it wasn't all a whirlwind. He drew a picture of Moses and said they talked about Jesus.

Monday I went and picked up Christian. He and I went to go see Frankenweenie while Wyatt was at football practice. (Wyatt had thought Frankenweenie was too scary for him to see. I agree that it wasn't a movie for Wyatt. It was too sad!) Chris and I had the entire theater to ourselves. We had gone to see the movie in IMAX 3D. Wow. I can not wait to see the latest Lord of the Rings movie because the trailer was pretty amazing in 3D. We both ducked several times.

Lindsay and family had gone to Warsaw for the weekend. I did get to see Kyler for a few minutes Sunday night. I took over some brownies and got to love on Ky.

Monday Lindsay and I decided that I can't slip out anymore without saying goodby to him. It's just that he cries when he sees me get up. But, it isn't any better on him when he discovers I've gone. So . . . no more slipping out. He'll just have to get used to me leaving. He will once he realizes how often I come back! :)

Prayer List

  • Thank you Father thank you.
  • Lord, extend the kingdom of your Son.
  • O Merciful God, who hast made all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, nor desirest the death of a sinner, but rather that he should be converted and live; Have mercy upon all who know thee not as thou are revealed in the Gospel of thy Son. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of thy Word; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord to thy fold, that they may be one flock under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
  • God please take the blinders from my children's heart and eyes. Please give them the gift of faith. Lord God, faith in you is so comforting and brings so much joy. Thank you!
  • God please bless Michael, Lindsay, and their families with faith, wisdom, and compassion. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • God thank you for the gift of my co-workers who have shown me that it is good to show that I am a Christian. It is more than okay, it is imperative that my faith shows, so that others can come to know you. Please make me into a shining light for you. Give me the words, and your wisdom, and please don't let me cause anyone to stumble.
  • God please be with my family/friends as they go through this time in their lives. Please give them strength and courage and wisdom and faith Lord.
  • God please guide the leaders of the world.
  • God please heal my children.
  • Please heal those that have asked for prayer.
