On this day the Lord has made . . .

As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.

So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

you are free in Jesus name

Just saw this on Instagram

When I saw this picture I was listening to Lauren Daigle sing "Trust In You" and the lyrics that she sang while I was first reading were:

"Trust In You"

Letting go of every single dream
I lay each one down at Your feet
Every moment of my wandering
Never changes what You see

I've tried to win this war I confess
My hands are weary I need Your rest
Mighty Warrior, King of the fight
No matter what I face, You're by my side

When You don't move the mountains I'm needing You to move
When You don't part the waters I wish I could walk through
When You don't give the answers as I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You!

Truth is, You know what tomorrow brings
There's not a day ahead You have not seen
So, in all things be my life and breath
I want what You want Lord and nothing less

When You don't move the mountains I'm needing You to move
When You don't part the waters I wish I could walk through
When You don't give the answers as I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You!

I will trust in You!
You are my strength and comfort
You are my steady hand
You are my firm foundation; the rock on which I stand

Your ways are always higher
Your plans are always good
There's not a place where I'll go, You've not already stood

When You don't move the mountains I'm needing You to move
When You don't part the waters I wish I could walk through
When You don't give the answers as I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You!

I will trust in You!
I will trust in You!
I will trust in You!

It took me forever to quit worrying about if I was saved - I mean, pretty much until a week or so ago I worried and fretted. There are so many ways I fail. So many! Then out of the blue scripture came to me about how it isn't anything that we do. I can't be good enough. I can't. But it isn't what I do in the first place. It is what JESUS did - He lived a sinless life. He went to the cross, died and rose again. He redeemed us. When we stand before God it will be Jesus that God's sees. Not my pitiful life. We are free.

After the song was over I wanted to find scripture that agreed with what Instapray had shared. I found this link: https://www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/freedom-bible-verses/

This link talks about how the Bible tells us about being free and who set us free. I even like the scripture where it tells us that once we realize what all it took to free us that we don't want to sin anymore. We do have the power, through Christ, to break free of the chains that sins keep us in.

I follow a board of people who are trying to quit gambling. When I read some of their stories I feel their pain, I relive their pain, because I was there. I know what it is like to have spent your entire pay check on a couple of hours of feeding money into a machine. I know what it is like to almost lose your home. I know what it is like to not have money to give to your adult child who is running short because the night before I gave a casino $400. I wanted to stop so bad and I just couldn't. Not until I told Jesus that I wanted to hear His name. I wanted to know people who loved you. I wanted to love Him. Guys, Jesus answered my prayer. I met some of the best people in the world and we met and we studied the word of God. I realized one day as I was driving home from work that I could head on over to the casino. But you know what? I just as quickly realized that I would rather go home and open my Bible and find out more about Deborah. It was then that I knew that those chains had been broken. Talk about joy!

Prayer List

  • Thank you Father thank you.
  • Lord, extend the kingdom of your Son.
  • O Merciful God, who hast made all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, nor desirest the death of a sinner, but rather that he should be converted and live; Have mercy upon all who know thee not as thou are revealed in the Gospel of thy Son. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of thy Word; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord to thy fold, that they may be one flock under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
  • God please take the blinders from my children's heart and eyes. Please give them the gift of faith. Lord God, faith in you is so comforting and brings so much joy. Thank you!
  • God please bless Michael, Lindsay, and their families with faith, wisdom, and compassion. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • God thank you for the gift of my co-workers who have shown me that it is good to show that I am a Christian. It is more than okay, it is imperative that my faith shows, so that others can come to know you. Please make me into a shining light for you. Give me the words, and your wisdom, and please don't let me cause anyone to stumble.
  • God please be with my family/friends as they go through this time in their lives. Please give them strength and courage and wisdom and faith Lord.
  • God please guide the leaders of the world.
  • God please heal my children.
  • Please heal those that have asked for prayer.
