There is this picture going around that illustrates this wonderful idea where you write on a slip of paper something good that happened to you that day. You do this each day and then you read it at the end of the year. Well, here it is the 4th of January and I keep meaning to do that. I still don't have a jar or paper. So instead of doing that, I am going to add it to my blog. At least try. :)
January 1st I spent most of the day finishing up my year-long Bible study. https://my.bible.com/reading-plans/4820/day/357
I love it because it starts off each new book of the Bible with a video from The Bible Project that explains the background, the context, and the meaning.
I really enjoyed just being able to take my time and read and watch and relax at home.
January 2nd I was back at work. I really enjoyed that because work was still pretty empty. Most people were still on vacation.
January 3rd was kind of fun because I had my days confused. I woke up at 3:30am. I went ahead and got up thinking that I could go back to sleep and sleep as long as I wanted because it was Saturday. The only problem was that it was Friday and I was due back at work. :) I had a chocolate malt-o meal with apricot preserves stirred in for sweetener with a piece of toast for breakfast. So good!
January 4th really is a Saturday. I had an appointment to get an estimate for a new furnace/ac unit. The salesman went into the basement and then told me that my basement was flooded. Sigh. So no estimate and I had to call for a cleanout. Luckily I have insurance for just this problem. Then I had Birthright and I frowned when I saw I had to work with Janice but I soldiered on and actually ended up enjoying working. Plus I got to see LeeAnn who I adore.
So now I am caught up for the year. Hopefully each day I will be adding a good thing that happened.
On this day the Lord has made . . .
As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.
So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

Prayer List
- Thank you Father thank you.
- Lord, extend the kingdom of your Son.
- O Merciful God, who hast made all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, nor desirest the death of a sinner, but rather that he should be converted and live; Have mercy upon all who know thee not as thou are revealed in the Gospel of thy Son. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of thy Word; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord to thy fold, that they may be one flock under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
- God please take the blinders from my children's heart and eyes. Please give them the gift of faith. Lord God, faith in you is so comforting and brings so much joy. Thank you!
- God please bless Michael, Lindsay, and their families with faith, wisdom, and compassion. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- God thank you for the gift of my co-workers who have shown me that it is good to show that I am a Christian. It is more than okay, it is imperative that my faith shows, so that others can come to know you. Please make me into a shining light for you. Give me the words, and your wisdom, and please don't let me cause anyone to stumble.
- God please be with my family/friends as they go through this time in their lives. Please give them strength and courage and wisdom and faith Lord.
- God please guide the leaders of the world.
- God please heal my children.
- Please heal those that have asked for prayer.
