On this day the Lord has made . . .

As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.

So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

sin

Bless Every Home sends out a prayer every morning that contains a scripture. I just love their prayers.

Today's prayer:

Father, I praise and thank You for the Spirit's power in us to restore others in a spirit of gentleness. Thank You for Your sanctifying work in us and through us to share Christ's love with others in restoring those caught in any sin.

Galatians 6:1

That last word set a light bulb off in my mind. In today's world, there is no such thing as sin. I mean think about it for a minute. What is considered a sin today? Certainly not having sex (any kind you want). Certainly not killing someone (think abortion or euthanasia).  I could go on with examples of sin but as you see pretty much anything God labels as sin would not be considered such by a vast majority of people - even Christians. Those last two words are the shocking part.

That the world thinks nothing is a sin makes sense. But for Christians to not consider sin a bad thing - that is wrong in every single way possible. Those people who go around saying that Christians can't sin are liars.

When people see Christians committing sins or lauding them as being no big deal - then it gives license to those who might have stopped, might even want to stop, so that they could look to Jesus.

Bear One Another’s Burdens
1Brothers, if anyone is caught in any sin, you who are spiritual [that is, you who are responsive to the guidance of the Spirit] are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness [not with a sense of superiority or self-righteousness], keeping a watchful eye on yourself, so that you are not tempted as well. Galations 6:1 AMP

Prayer List

  • Thank you Father thank you.
  • Lord, extend the kingdom of your Son.
  • O Merciful God, who hast made all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, nor desirest the death of a sinner, but rather that he should be converted and live; Have mercy upon all who know thee not as thou are revealed in the Gospel of thy Son. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and contempt of thy Word; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord to thy fold, that they may be one flock under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
  • God please take the blinders from my children's heart and eyes. Please give them the gift of faith. Lord God, faith in you is so comforting and brings so much joy. Thank you!
  • God please bless Michael, Lindsay, and their families with faith, wisdom, and compassion. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • God thank you for the gift of my co-workers who have shown me that it is good to show that I am a Christian. Give me the words, and your wisdom, and please don't let me cause anyone to stumble.
  • God please be with my family/friends as they go through this time in their lives. Please give them strength and courage and wisdom and faith Lord.
