Friday, December 13th. I got up and got dressed for work. During my drive to work I noticed the rain and the falling temperatures, this coupled with the fact that they were forecasting a winter storm, made me decide to stop at the grocery store and take the day off from work.
Since Michael sleeps days, Scout and I went back to my room. I think I ended up sleeping most of the day away. Now I'm doing laundry and listening to Christian Radio - BOTT, 92.3 FM. Listening to John MacArthurs Grace To You. With this series of programs he is telling us the best way to study the Word of God. Here is the link: http://www.gty.org/resources/sermon-series/247 Before I begin his series I want to finish what I had decided to do this morning and that is to write down how each of the New Testament books end. Goofy, I know.
Matthew:
Actually, before I begin to write down the end of each book. Lately everyone on the radio has been talking about angels. At least, that is what my ears are picking up. The last chapter in Matthew speaks of an angel:
2And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
Tony Evans (The Existence of Angels series) was talking about how angels were created to worship God. He mentioned that angels are appointed to take care of believers. Not everyone as a lot of people think - just the children of God. He warns us, just as the Bible warns us, even angels warn us, that we must not worship angels, Jesus is who we are to worship. I think this is why I don't purchase any of the angel paintings that I love from Karen Tarlton. I don't want anyone to think that I believe angels are higher than any other created being. Although I am very thankful for their existence.
Back to the books of the Bible. Although since I already wrote down Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in an earlier post. I will start after the first four gospels.
