On this day the Lord has made . . .

As I was driving home from the grocery store I heard a man on the radio ask what we were leaving our children/grandchildren. He mentioned how he would choose, over any amount of money, the writings from his grandfather . . . if he had left any.

So, I have determined to create a diary/journal of what happened to me on this day(s) the Lord has granted me.

Backup up Sewer

Yesterday I woke up in a cleaning mood and I started washing all of the throw rugs. Started being the operative word. The drain in the basement backed up. I called the plumber. Note to self and anyone who might be reading this who needs a plumber. Don't call: Rice Plumbing in Kansas City at 816/254-5210. They said they would be here at 3:00 PM on Monday and they didn't show up nor did they answer my 4 phone calls. I took off work at 2:30 to be here for them and they didn't even call to say they wouldn't be coming. I did find a great plumber though. ABC Plumbing Kansas City at 816/217-7216. Not only were they cheap. They came out immediately and they cleared the drain AND cleaned up the mess from the overflow. I've never had someone clean up the mess. They are wonderful!!! I even wrote a good review for them at yellowpages.com. I wrote a bad review for Rice Plumbing. I mean what kind of business can they have when they don't even call about an appointment they aren't going to make it to?

  • God please take the blinders from my children's heart and eyes. Please give them the gift of faith. Lord God, faith in you is so comforting and brings so much joy. Thank you!

  • God thank you for the gift of my co-workers who have shown me that it is good to show that I am a Christian. It is more than okay, it is imperative that my faith shows, so that others can come to know you. Please make me into a shining light for you. Give me the words, and your wisdom, and please don't let me cause anyone to stumble.
  • God please be with my family/friends as they go through this time in their lives. Please give them strength and courage and wisdom and faith Lord.
  • God please guide the leaders of the world.
  • God please heal my children.
  • Please heal those that have asked for prayer.
