I find it hard to believe that I haven't been writing at all. This year has been one thing after another. So many great memes (pictures) have been created. Every time we think something horrible has happened, the next month, something even crazier happens. It's like each month is in competition to do more than the month before.
It is August 21, 2020, and I am on medical leave. My stomach, my whole being, has decided to become a bundle of nerves and pain. I keep having diverticulitis attacks and my doctor seems to think that between that and IBS my insides just keep aggravating each other.
Through work, we have this benefit that is like a concierge service at a fine hotel - but this is a service that helps you with medical issues. I called them and they got me hooked up with a psychologist and a GI. The psychologist is supposed to show me how to deal with stress - since it appears like I've forgotten how to roll with the punches. I still haven't seen the GI. They couldn't get me in until the end of September. In the meantime, I continue to have diverticulitis attacks and my stomach feels like it is on fire and nauseous and acting all kinds of the fool. Too many ways to detail in a public blog. My ability to drive is almost completely gone. My world is getting too small.
I'm watching too much tv. It was actually a movie that got me up and typing in this blog. Bordertown with Jennifer Lopez. There's a part in the movie where she is confronting her editor. He tells her that the days of investigative reporting are dead. Now the media is just a corporate shill. Their goal is entertainment, free trade, and globalization.
I can remember when I used to watch shows that featured journalists and what they had dug up. Now, they jail journalists who dare go against the grain.
