the gospel originates with God our Father

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son,

God so loved the world. This is profound to me. I mean, I've read and said this scripture so many times but I usually just think of Jesus when I think of the gospel. Which is silly. Everything originates with God the Father. HE is the beginning the end and the middle. God is all. The world we live in, who we are, is all God's plan. 

This thought didn't come to me out of the blue. I'm watching a Ligonier program and that is where I hear it first. This thought is also a huge one because I've been in discussion with Jeff Trainer. He's a Jehovah's Witness and JW's think that they are the only true followers. There are two things I agree with JW's. 1. We as a whole probably do have a lot of things wrong. 2. We need to talk about God more - worship Him. I've always thought of this. I really took to heart what God said about being a jealous God. BUT, and this is a huge but, I think they are a cult that is condemning so many people to hell here on earth and eternally. The JW's subvert who Jesus is and so much of what the Bible tells us. So much of what Jeff has told me has horrified me. But Jeff keeps stressing how we have demoted God. Which is a huge no to me as well. 

We shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 

God is the one who set in motion the plan to save us from His wrath.
